  • W&OD Trail Cleanup

    Sat 1 Jun 2024  09:00 EDT - 11:00 EDT
Weenie Beenie, 2680 Shirlington Rd, Arlington, VA 22206, USA

Hello special Arlington Friends of the W&OD!

Did you know that the Friends of the W&OD organization is the Adopter for the first half mile of the trail (Trailhead to S. Four Mile Run across from Barcroft Park entrance) in Arlington?

As the adopters, we're responsible for doing 4 cleanups per year. Since this is the gateway to the trail, we like to make sure it gets the attention it deserves.

We've chosen to do our next cleanup on June 1, the American Hiking Society's National Trails Day and we'd love for you to join us for some service and fun. We'll have grabbers, gloves, and trash bags and some 50th Anniversary of the W&OD Swag! We plan to pick up trash and ensure our landscaping at the trailhead is looking healthy. If you have talents in either of those areas, we'd love to see you!

We'll start at the trailhead (across from Weenie Beenie) at 9 and finish up by 11.

No need to sign up - just mark your calendar and we'll hope to see you there!

Of course, if you have any questions, please feel free to send me a note.

    Kelley Westenhoff
    President
    Friends of the W&OD
