DPCA Fourth of July
Join us for the 43rd Annual Douglas Park Civic Association Fourth of July Parade and Potluck!
We still need volunteers this year, please sign up for a shift here.
Help fund the event directly through our Venmo: @DPCA_Arl
Pay annual dues to the Douglas Park Civic Association, it helps us put on events like this: https://www. douglasparkca.org/join/
10:00am – Gather at Monroe Park for parade and judging of the best parade floats, costumes, and decorated bikes. (Contact the Civic Association if you would like to apply for a grant to offset the cost of creating a float)
10:30am – Parade leaves from Monroe Park, proceeding along S Nelson Street to 18th St S, to S Quincy Street and into Douglas Park for the potluck.
There will be a waterslide, a moon bounce, and live music. This is a potluck picnic, so bring your finest recipes to share:
· Folks with last names beginning with A-M are asked to bring a side dish.
· Folks with last names beginning with N-Z are asked to bring a dessert.
Hot dogs will be provided by the Douglas Park Civic Association, and bring your own water bottles to fill with a water refill station.
12:00pm – The reading of the Declaration of Independence.
A special thank you to our neighbor Geeti Bawa who has stepped up as our event Executive Coordinator!
